Mission & Goals
Mission
The Hemet Academy of Applied Academics and Technology (HAAAT) is an alternative public high school dedicated to providing all students with a rigorous standards based education delivered through a technology assisted hands-on learning model. We are a small school alternative offering multiple career and educational pathways leading to an advanced degree or occupational certificate. We incorporate technology and community based business partnerships to assist students in their post high school career/educational interests. Acceleration through high school is achieved through a 4 X 4 schedule. We are seeking to create a partnership with our local community college to consider adding an early college opportunity for HAAAT students.
Vision
HAAAT's philosophy is based on the belief that all students:
- need strong academic and current vocational skills to be fully prepared to enter the workforce or higher education;
- learn best if they see a connection between their personal lives and the classroom;
- thrive in a safe, nurturing learning environment that meets individual student's needs while being encourage to exceed their own expectations;
- succeed when involved with performance-based, authentic assessment, regularly scheduled collaboration time with teachers and access to modern technology, facilities, mentors, internships and community partnerships.
College and non-college bound students need to leave the K-12 system with the language, math, computer, problem-solving, teamwork, and job-specific skills necessary to secure employment or seek further education. Schools must provide specific and appropriate preparation for students who choose to enter the workforce immediately after high school gradation, as well as those going on to the college level.
Goals
- All students will complete high school HUSD graduation requirements.
- Students will graduate with a minimum of a diploma and a career-area focus certification.

- Provide a quality education to a diverse student population in a safe environment.
- Instill values of academic excellence.
- Create an awareness and appreciation of other people and cultures.
- Provide the necessary support services so all students will succeed.
- Provide opportunities for students to become proficient problem solvers, critical thinkers, and effective communicators.
